Adult chicken pox
July 13, 2007
Many people who think they are going to get Chickenpox do not think that they will get it when they are adults. It is very possible to get Chickenpox even when you are an adult. Chickenpox is is a very contagious disease which is most often caused by a virus that is named Varicella. If you contract chickenpox while you are an adult, you are probably wondering how you got this disease. Well, the virus known as chickenpox is spread out our air by people who are currently infected with Chickenpox; the way this disease spreads is when an infected person either sneezes or coughs him is spreading the Chickenpox disease any time that the infected person does this. It is also good to know, that the adult chicken pox disease can be spread in more then one way, beyond the being spread through the air chickenpox can also be spread from any touching of a chickenpox, will make the area you touched the chickenpox blister if you do not wash your hands after touching an infected person. This is good to know if one of your family members or relatives had chickenpox you could know how to prevent the spreading of this disease throughout your house. Do you have any experiences with Chickenpox? Feel free to share with us your experiences you have had, and if submitted and approved we will be happy to give your experience its own page on this blog.

Adults, who are going to have chickenpox, usually did not have chickenpox when they are a child. This is because if you have had chickenpox at one time or another, then you are most likely immune to getting it again. What it means to be immune is that if you happen to come in contact with chickenpox for a second time, your body would be able to fend off the spreading infections inside of your body, and it will usually not even cause for you to be sick at all. If you are an adult and at any time had just a small outbreak of chickenpox blisters, then it can be possible for you to get the disease known as chickenpox again in your lifetime, although this is known to be very rare. So if you have already had chickenpox then you will most likely not be able to catch it a second time, so if you have had chickenpox you can safely aid a friend or family member who is infected with chickenpox, without having any risk of getting chickenpox yourself.
If you get a chickenpox infection, the chickenpox virus actually doesn’t leave your body for the rest of your life. Although it is known that this virus can also cause shingles, which is a disease that is known to be very painful. Shingles can often cause a lot of blistering rash on a part of your body. When you are touching any of the fluid that comes with having shingles blisters can often spread to a person who is currently infected with chickenpox, to an adult who has never had chickenpox in their life. So if you have a chickenpox story please share it with all of our readers.

Got something to say?

my 5 yr. old kid got chicken pox in school and after abt. 3-weeks when it is considered well accdg. to the doctor my other kids 8yrs. old and 14 yrs. old got it too eventually.
Out of the blue my 34-yrs. old nephew started to feel ill and decided to go home to his place. After 2 days he went back to my house and felt he could be looked after if he join my kids in this chicken pox family as I call it.
All in all Im taking care of 3 people of various ages who are suffering from the disease.
Im 41 now and I got c. pox when I was 25 yrs. old when I got it from the office I was working at during that time.
The 5 yr. old kid of mine went back to school while the rest stays home suffering from dizziness, pain due to the inflammed bruises and dots and also how they terribly look. Can`t sleep much at night because of the sores in their heads and genitals w/c makes them uncomfortable. Could hardly swallow food and requests soups and soft foods because they have sore throaths. Rather than all these unpleasanties the family stays looking out for each other and expects to get healed in the soonest possible time .
A short mail of child and adult chicken pox:
Marsha Matsuura after her 5yrs. old kid got chicken pox, 3 people were infected.
her sisters 8yrs. and 14 yr. old and her uncle 34 yrs. old.
Now 3 people are under my care ,looking forward to get them healed in 2-3weeks.
It can happen to all ages.
I would just like to say that I had chicken pox as a child. In 2006 I was diagnosed with cancer and finished chemo and a stemcell transplant in 2007. Then in the summer of 2008 I developed a couple bumps on my stomach that I passed of as bug bites from laying in the lawn the day before. Over the next couple days these bumps spread to painful bumps on my face, and in my ears and mouth and flu like symptoms. I went to the doctor and I did indeed have the chicken pox again. And althoughthe strand was enough to cause me misery, it was not strong enough to spread to my children or others around me with normal immune systoms.
I am a 34 yr. old female that had the chickenpox as a child when I was 4. This year I had a case of the shingles on the side of my face. There was only 1 huge bump on my mouth at the time that my shingles started and alot of pain spreading from a nerve near my ear. The pain branched out towards my eye, another nerve towards my mouth and the other shooting towards my neck. I was in alot of pain for about 1 month. I went to the doctor after the first week of facial pain and was diagnosed with shingles. They said that it was caused by stress possibly and I was prescribed a pain pill and a anti-flamatory. The doctor said that I had to let it runs it’s course. Stay out of the public, because I was highly contagous. There was no antibiotic because it was the Chickenpox strain in my body. So I healed up in two months total and all was well. I was so glad to get past it. 7 months later, I broke out with a real case of the chickenpox, I went to my doctor and they said, “Yep, it’s chickenpox. People have been known to get them a second time”. I had to let them run their course. Try to relax, the strain was just strongly in my body for some reason and letting me know it. So I went on for three weeks getting itchy bump after bump, stressing about having the Chickenpox. I work in Customer Service and had to avoid being around others in public, so that was stress enough knowing that I was highly contagous again, and had to stay home. Just when I thought the Chickenpox were healing after the second week, What do you know… I start getting shingles in my face on the opposite side this time. No bumps on my face just very mild nerve pain, like a headache that’s also tingly and sensitive to the touch. So I decided that my body was trying to tell me something. Like to relax! De-Stress. Just knowing that the shingle pain was coming on, stressed me out. Because my body was showing me signs that my stress level was too high, just seemed absurd to me. But it was. So focused on relaxing that evening and the next day. Really let loose and relaxed. In a couple of days the pain in my face subsided. Horray! But the wierd thing was, is that I kept getting chickenpox bumps for another week. And let me tell you, they look like they are going to be quite a few scars on this adult skin. So as soon as all of this runs it’s course, I will then go to the doctor and try to find out about get a shingle preventative shot to curb this from happening again. I heard that theyadministor them to people over 60 that get reacurring shingles. Hopefully they will allow me also. So I have had the Chickenpox twice and shingles twice. So far….
