Treatment

There are a few different types of chicken pox treatment that you can go through, making sure you get the right treatment can be very important, the reason this is because without treatment chicken pox can turn into a very deadly disease. One form of treatment that you might get if you are experiencing chicken pox is a prescription from a doctor, or possibly a medicine that you can buy from any local grocery store, that also happens to supply medicine for people who have gotten sick. Due to the fact that chicken pox is mainly a one time disease, the chicken pox treatment is usually targeted at making the person who is suffering with chicken pox feel better, and be more comfortable while they are dealing with the rashy chicken pox virus. Although it has been known that in extreme cases of chicken pox, that the chicken pox treatment you might want to have is antiviral medication, which is called acyclovir this can often be used to treat chicken pox, and is one of the doctor’s recommended treatment if you are having a strong outbreak of the chicken pox virus.

Acyclovir, as well as other antiviral medications have been used in various circumstances for treatment of some individuals with varicella. Oral Acyclovir is not indicated for treatment of otherwise healthy children but is recommended for treatment of adolescents and adults. Oral Acyclovir is not recommended for postexposure prophylaxis.

One of the treatments for chicken pox is something that almost anyone in the United States that has ever had a headache would be familiar with. Tylenol this medication is often used to calm down the cold-like symptoms of chicken pox. This treatment works to get rid of fever as well as fatigue and can even be found helpful to stop some of the muscle aches that can be caused by chicken pox in the first place. So if you have an outbreak of the chicken pox virus makes sure to have some Tylenol ready so that you can fight this part of the virus and win.

Another type of chicken pox treatment is soothing baths. Many times if you just have a couple soothing bathes it will help relieve the itching from the blisters that the chicken pox virus has caused you to have in spots or spread throughout your body. Many people have found that using oatmeal (colloidal) will help bring down the want to be itching, which anyone who has had the chicken pox virus will tell you, that is one of the most annoying things of this disease is the need to itch at all the blisters that you have gotten. Making sure you do have chicken pox symptoms is very important, and then figuring out how to fight off this disease should be your next step. Never forget that chicken pox can be deadly, and that a chicken pox vaccine is not only affordable but can also save your life.

chickenpoxvaccine.jpgChickenpox vaccine is the best way to prevent chickenpox. Vaccination not only protects vaccinated persons, it also reduces the risk for exposure in the community for persons unable to be vaccinated because of illness or other conditions, including those who may be at greater risk for severe disease. While no vaccine is 100% effective in preventing disease, the chickenpox vaccine is very effective: about 8 to 9 of every 10 people who are vaccinated are completely protected from chickenpox. In addition, the vaccine almost always prevents against severe disease. If a vaccinated person does get chickenpox, it is usually a very mild case lasting only a few days and involving fewer skin lesions (usually less than 50), mild or no fever, and few other symptoms.

One crazy, yet completely relevant fact is that each year before the chicken pox vaccination has even came out there were around 11 thousand people, that had to be put inside of a hospital due to the chicken pox symptoms that they were showing each and every year. This number was only talking about people in the United States mind you, not even counting how many people around the world where effected due to the fact they had no way to get a chicken pox vaccination at this time.
